An Awesome Day with V103 and Hosea Feed the Hungry!
September 30, 2009
V-103 The People’s Station hosted a 14hr flood relief drive to raise money for Georgia’s recent flood victims. V-103 and the Atlanta community raised over $85,000 plus 5 months of shelter to a displaced flood victim from T.R.E.. Executive Director Elisabeth Omilami of Hosea Feed The Hungry was moved to tears when given her total donation and T.R.E. residence. It was truly an honor to donate to her organization and experience the power of giving.
V-103 is the heartbeat of Atlanta Hip-Hop and R&B and has a HUGE following of dedicated listeners from diverse backgrounds. We saw this relief effort as an opportunity for T.R.E. to continue efforts in improving our community and, of course, get a bit of air time and connect with local celebrities for T.R.E.. We we’re able to secure some microphone time with Frank (www.FrankSki.com), Wanda, and the hilarious Miss. Sophia! If you haven’t checked out the Frank and Wanda Morning Show, I highly recommend it. As I told the radio hosts, I have two stations programed in my car– NPR for national news and V-103 for local news, side splitting laughter, and obviously HIP- HOP and R&B!
Despite our overwhelming desire to help the Atlanta community and more specifically our current neighborhood, Meadowdale/ Mountainbrook, I have to say, it is difficult for a small business such as T.R.E. to donate goods and services while ensuring a profit to stay in business! Thankfully we have a great team and work together well to achieve this balance.
T.R.E. is a team of driven, passionate professionals from diverse backgrounds in real estate, business, and social services. With this diversity we are finding success in community development and a successful real estate business! I have an overwhelming sense of pride in our work as we transform homes and create positive change in Dekalb County.
